NATIONAL REBUILDING DAY WEEKEND

Held every April at Rebuilding Together affiliates across the nation. Volunteers from each region will join together to provide life-saving and critical home repairs for vulnerable families in need. The work is done at no cost to recipient families, and funds are raised through sponsorships, donations, and in-kind gifts of materials and labor. National Rebuilding Day comes to life when schools and student groups mobilize to make an impact!

ELEVATE WITH RTMC

Elevate is a year-round program for high school students who are interested in spending their time building an accessibility ramp for a lower-income homeowner with disabilities. Work is supervised by a professional carpenter or handyman and preformed over the course of two to three days. Through the site planning, teamwork and the use of carpentry materials, students develop leadership and communication skills while contributing to local communities.

In 2015, RTMC is offering two, 3-day sessions of Elevate: one in the summer and one in the fall. Each session will provide participants the opportunity to earn up to 30 community service hours on the project.

NATIONAL REBUILDING DAY

National Rebuilding Day is our biggest engagement, accounting for one-third of our total projects completed each year. Held annually on the last weekend in April, National Rebuilding Day is the culmination of a year of planning, training, organizing, and mobilizing hundreds of community volunteers and sponsors to repair and renovate multiple homes throughout Montgomery County.

The homes are sponsored by local businesses, civic groups, faith-based organizations, schools, and associations. In partnership with RTMC, these groups gather volunteers, develop scopes of work, plan and execute dozens of large-scale home repair projects. Corporate Leadership Opportunities on National Rebuilding Day include:

  • “Adopt” a home in the community
  • Collaborate on media efforts
  • Large scale sponsorship opportunities
  • Individual house sponsorship opportunities
  • Become a project leader, crew leader, or volunteer coordinator
  • Control the scope or work and time commitment

GOLF CLASSIC

Serve a leadership role on the golf committee or send a team of volunteers to assist with logistics while raising money for our families in need of warm, safe, and dry homes. The RTMC Golf Classic is hosted annually at a golf course in Montgomery County on or around the first week of October.

In addition to volunteer opportunities, sponsorship opportunities are also available.

HOST A DRIVE

Host an internal corporate drive to help collect items Rebuilding Together uses on home rebuilds and for their clients throughout the holidays. Items can include tools, home goods, and gift cards for stores such as Home Depot, Ace Hardware and other similar home goods stores.

CORPORATE GIVE-BACK DAYS

Corporate Give-Back Days are held throughout the year to engage the business community in service. These service projects support the businesses in a variety of ways, including: team building, strengthening the corporate brand, and aligning philanthropic investments with strategic business goals. Led by RTMC staff, Corporate Give-Back Days provide businesses and their employees a meaningful way to connect to their communities.
