Rebuilding Together Montgomery County is closely monitoring the COVID-19 crisis. Our primary concern is protecting our low-income homeowners we serve, volunteers, staff and [Re]Build partners from the spread of the coronavirus.
As you know, this is a serious public health situation – one that disproportionately impacts those we serve: the elderly, people suffering from underlying health problems, and families struggling financially while living in unhealthy or unsafe homes.
In addition to the CDC guidelines for hand washing, using 60% alcohol sanitizer, wiping down surfaces, covering coughs and sneezes, and practicing social distancing, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County has:
- Instructed all employees to work from home,
- Cancelled all in-person meetings, volunteer trainings, and other gatherings,
- Suspended all home repair work,
- Postponed National [Re]Building Day, She Builds, and all other group projects.
There are many ways to make a difference for the low-income homeowners in Montgomery County we serve. The most effective and safest way you can get involved now, as this crisis continues to unfold, is by making a financial contribution to Rebuilding Together Montgomery County so we will be able to continue to support those who need our help the most.
We will keep you updated as this situation develops.
