RTMC Receives $10,000 Investment from Total Wine & More
Bethesda, MD (September 16, 2015) –This morning, Total Wine & More, America’s largest, independently owned retailer of fine wine, beer and spirits, celebrated the opening of its corporate offices in Bethesda, MD by holding a ribbon cutting celebration and awarding ten local nonprofits, including Rebuilding Together Montgomery County, with $10,000.00 for their work in local communities.
Total Wine & More’s co-owners, brothers David and Robert Trone, have a strong commitment to the communities where their stores are located and since the founding of the company have partnered with local charitable organizations that do outstanding work in their communities.
At David and Robert’s direction, and as part of the headquarters grand opening celebration, Total Wine & More asked its employees to nominate outstanding Montgomery County charitable organizations for special grants that would be distributed at its grand opening event.
As a result of the Total Wine & More employee letter below, RTMC was awarded a $10,000.00 gift made public at today’s event.
I would like to suggest “Rebuilding Montgomery County Together” non-profit organization [for this year’s grant awards]. I live in Montgomery County and since I have worked for TWM, my daughter has been diagnosed with Leukemia and we have been going through hard-times. She was in the hospital for six months and in order for her to come home, things needed to be done to the old house. I reached out to these people asking for help because I couldn’t afford to have these alterations done to my house (single parent caring for elderly mother and daughter) and they generously came to our house and removed mold, built railings (daughter is in wheelchair now), replaced furnace, etc all at no charge to us. I feel that this organization is an invaluable part of Montgomery County and I know personally just how they have helped me and my family when we needed it the most. Please, please consider this organization as they help many people who are in unfortunate situations.
Thank you for your consideration.
RTMC would like to thank the Trone family and Total Wine & More for their commitment to our community. We’d also like to thank Ms. Sorenson for her willingness to share her story and “pay it forward” with a grant recommendation. Because of her nomination, RTMC now has $10,000.00 dollars which can be invested to help other residents in need. Thank you!
