Team Neelsville Completes an Extreme Home Makeover for Poolesville Resident

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]RTMC’s committed volunteers do great work, but every now and then, one of our volunteer teams goes above and beyond the scope of work to pull off what we’d classify as an “extreme home makeover”.

This National Rebuilding Day,  the Neelsville team did just that- completely upgrading the living conditions for one homeowner living in Poolesville, MD, Ms. A. Scott. In a heartfelt letter to his volunteers, house captain Craig Arold delivers a short summary and heart-warming thank you to his project team volunteers.

Please read below and check out the pictures to see the life-changing transformation that this team made for Ms. Scott.

“Team Neelsville & Friends: What a great month we had in Poolesville completing our 12th annual Rebuilding Together project!  For those of you that have participated in past projects, you certainly know that this one was quite transformational.  Not only was the house structure and appearance dramatically changed, but more importantly, it had a huge positive impact on the living conditions of our resident, Ms. A. Scott.  Her life is now changed through this experience and so are ours.

Many of you saw up close how the rotted exterior structure left places on the siding where the only thing separating Ms. Scott’s bedroom from the cold weather was the interior wall paper.  After we removed the siding, you also saw how most of the front wall structure was disintegrated.  Those of you that put on suits, masks, and goggles to brave the dirty job in the crawl space saw that all of the insulation under her bedroom and the front of the house was completely gone, leaving the entire floor exposed to the cold.  The interior crew saw how years of a leaking roof left the ceilings falling down in almost every room.

Consider the past few long, cold winters, and imagine what Ms. Scott must have been thinking and praying about when she went to bed at night and when she got up each morning. Now think about God’s grace.

Think about how your financial contributions to Neelsville Presbyterian Church helped support the Rebuilding Together (RT) organization and has allowed us to sponsor a house each year.  How that RT team diligently evaluates applicants and assesses their needs.  And finally, how the RT team assigns big projects to a team that knows how to get things done.  All of this is God at work through every hand that touched this project. The included pictures tell the rest of the story.

God bless each of you for your commitment to this mission!

In His Service, Craig”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_separator type=”normal” position=”center” icon_pack=”font_awesome”][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21682,21681,21684,21686,21673,21688,21678,21680″ onclick=”link_image” custom_links_target=”_self” column_number=”2″ type=”qode_gallery” grayscale=”no” title=”Extreme Home Makeover by Team Neelsville “][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
